The Rhyming Ways

(to be read fast, as a kind of song or chant)

Strike yourself-
inspiration,
and ignite like a match.
fire burn-
lumination,
take your time
watch your back.

Peek through windows
hasty curtains,
that are drawn to a close.
Piece together,
shards of patience-
and you might get a rose

Bottle glass-
stands beneath you,
will it draw out your tears?
Shove them back-
find your center,
hear the rush in your ears.

Don't tell time-
let the clocks,
sit and dust on the wall.
Whisper secrets
to the world,
and twill catch
when you
fall.
